JW Anderson approaches denim from an unexpected angle in its latest campaign, bringing model and actress Dree Hemingway together with her partner Nick Delli Santi for their first photographed campaign appearance as a couple. Shot by Sam Khoury under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, the images build their narrative around closeness, shared dressing and the quiet chemistry between two people.
The setting remains deliberately relaxed, allowing the relationship between Hemingway and Delli Santi to sit alongside the clothes rather than compete with them. There is a playful ease to the photographs, with the pair moving through the campaign as two individuals connected by a common wardrobe language.
At the centre is JW Anderson‘s Twisted Denim, a collection that takes the familiar architecture of a pair of jeans and disrupts it through construction. The front panel is rotated, while the leg seams continue along the same altered trajectory, creating a shape that reveals itself through movement rather than decoration.
It is a characteristically precise intervention from Jonathan Anderson: the garment remains immediately recognisable, yet its proportions and seams have been shifted enough to change the way it sits on the body.
The collection is unisex, made entirely from Japanese cotton and produced by specialist denim manufacturers in Japan. The emphasis is placed firmly on fabrication, with details including a Made in Japan marking printed inside the pocket, an oversized leather patch embossed with the JW Anderson logo, metal shank buttons and orange binding.
Photographing Hemingway and Delli Santi together gives those details a different context. Instead of presenting the jeans through a single silhouette or a conventional fashion pose, the campaign lets the garments move between two people, making the unisex premise visible through styling, gesture and proximity.
The result is denim with a slightly altered logic: familiar enough to wear without explanation, unusual enough to be noticed once it moves.
