A Legnica Apartment Tuned to Slavic Folk and Electronic Music

Posted on October 13, 2026October 13, 2026 by cvltartes.pr@gmail.com

Klaudia Wójcik makes music with roots in Slavic folk tradition and a pulse shaped by electronic sound. As the vocalist of Projekt Wianek, she moves between inherited melodies and contemporary production, a duality that found its way into the 60-square-metre apartment she commissioned from interior designer Monika Staniec in Legnica, Poland.

When Wójcik entered Staniec’s studio in June 2025, her brief left little room for neutral decisions. She wanted something personal, assertive and far removed from the polished sameness of many contemporary interiors. The first defining element arrived in the form of a Spanish tile patterned with cross-stitch motifs against a black background. Its graphic intensity gave the project a point of departure, establishing a visual language that could carry through the entire apartment.

Deep burgundy became the dominant colour, extending across ceilings, the kitchen and the bathroom. Its presence gives the rooms a concentrated atmosphere, while the embroidered geometry of the tile introduces a reference to traditional craft without turning the apartment into a folkloric set. Cultural identity emerges through colour, pattern and the mood they create together.

Staniec’s approach gives Wójcik’s artistic world a place within the architecture of everyday life. The references remain specific, drawn from the visual associations of folk culture and the expressive intensity of music, yet they belong naturally to the rooms themselves. Nothing needs to announce the connection through literal symbols or staged nostalgia.

Across its 60 square metres, the apartment demonstrates how an interior can reflect the person who inhabits it through considered design decisions. In Wójcik’s home, Slavic folk culture finds its place in a contemporary domestic setting, carried through a palette and material language with the confidence of a musical signature.
